 New Shed Building Fund

Our current privately owned shed has been great for getting the KCMS Inc off the ground and we are very grateful to have a rent free home with all services paid. Unfortunately we cannot reach our full potential due to space constraints. It’s just too small to house all the programmes we want to cater for. For example, our thriving gardening group would like to create a plant nursery to revegetate native plants and supply plants for Kendenup residents. Health promotion is an important part of community and men’s sheds and we don’t have anywhere suitable for lectures. We have a lapidary group trying to squeeze into out 120 square metres with the woodworking group and the list just goes on….

Ongoing Shed Operation

While we try to raise funds top cover our operational costs by making and selling various items, repairing furniture, providing services such as sharpening knives, chisels, axes etc. running raffles, sausage sizzles and market stalls, it’s difficult to cover the cost of materials, machinery repairs and insurance. Your donation will greatly assist us meet our goals and help us get firmly established.

About Your Donations, Where & How They Are Used

Our new shed building fund is the big one!  Help us with our dream of providing a state of the art facility for Kendenup that will meet the needs of our residents for years to come.

Our daily operations save lives! A big call you say. Well it’s true. By providing a facility where both men and woman can gather, socialise, contribute to community projects, learn new skills and build self esteem we provide those challenged by life’s ups and downs with a sense of purpose and direction. As someone who has been involved with men’s shed for years the author has lost count of the number of members and member’s families who have said, “Thank you for what you have done for XXX. He is a new man since he joined the men’s shed!” Blokes have admitted to me that the shed has saved them from the unthinkable.

We build stronger communities and create better overall health. While we don’t pretend to be mental health professionals our approach is,”Health by Stealth”
